Very nice thermal camera

Very nice thermal camera.
The device feels very well made with its sturdy case and pelican-style case. The display is clear and bright and the buttons have a good feel to them. The IR resolution is as advertised and the up-scaling mode seems to add a bit of sharpness, although it cannot really change the optical resolution, of course. The user interface works well and the camera offers a lot of features.
The original device I received had a faulty sensor (or calibration?) resulting in vertical line artifacts. After contacting customer support and providing a few example images of the defect, I received a replacement device which is working perfectly as expected. So despite the initial hick-up I am very happy with my purchase. Only potential downsides: no macro lens available (but can easily be added diy) and no manual temperature range setting. The latter could potentially be added in a new firmware version, so let's hope. Be aware that the device is pretty big – ideal for HVAC work or similar and also good for the electronics lab but certainly not a pocket camera.

Good thermal imager for sure

The image quality is great — hotspots show up clearly and quickly. I compared it with a friend’s $1500 priced device, and the THOR002 had noticeably sharper edges and faster response.

good tool for high temperature environment

Used the Thor002 to scan the exhaust section of a heat treatment line. Surface temperatures were hitting over 900°F, and the readings stayed stable the entire time. I cross-checked with a thermocouple, and it matched well. This camera handles high-heat jobs just fine.
